Last Friday, October 14, 2011, I had the pleasure of seeing all the work behind Alpha Phi’s Red Dress Gala come to fruition! We began working with the women and advisors from UC Berkeley in July to coordinate their fundraiser for Women’s Heart Disease and were thrilled with the outcome!
The gala was held at the Wedgewood Banquet Center at Metropolitan Golf Links in Oakland, complete with a silent auction, dinner, dancing and many games – a raffle, heads and tails and wine blast included! Final numbers are not yet in, but calculations so far show significant money raised for the Alpha Phi Foundation, not to mention that the approximately 250 guests had a fabulous time! This sorority is the only one at UC Berkeley to put on a gala for their philanthropic cause – what a statement of service and dedication!
We just about can’t wait to share pictures from this event, but you’ll have to stay tuned for photos coming in November, produced by Fatima Anne Photography. Thank you to all the women at Alpha Phi – Lambda Chapter and to the vendors and venue who helped make this event a success!
